Overview
Upland is essentially a property-trading, city-building metaverse where users can explore cities, accumulate properties using crypto tokens, and meet other Uplanders. Upland is primarily a game where participants purchase, sell, and exchange property.
Uplanders travel to cities to mint uncommon and unique property NFTs in the metaverse. These NFTs can subsequently be used to complete real estate collections or sold on the DeFi open market. Upland’s mission is to provide an engaging experience beyond being a real estate tycoon. A few activities available in Upland are treasure hunts, hidden pinatas, scavenger hunts, and live property auctions.
Upland’s goal is an actualized digital metaverse that eliminates the barriers between the actual and virtual worlds. Upland will eventually be home to arcades, marketplaces, enterprises, exchanges, community government, and much more!
Play-to-Earn
As previously said, digital real estate serves as the game’s backbone. The overall objective is to make money by buying and selling virtual properties. However, players are capable of much more. What players choose to do with their assets is totally up to them, much as in the real world. Some people decide to create their enterprises. These can be in-game companies set up by players as exterior or interior designers. Other players have established block explorer stores where players can exchange in-game stuff.
Some players already use their properties as virtual galleries to display their digital or physical artworks. Players can then use bitcoin or fiat cash to purchase these works of art. People can also use their virtual Upland property as the headquarters for their real-life business. They can offer customers an Upland address and afterward welcome and do business with them at that spot. Expect more real-world enterprises to embrace this strategy as groundbreaking solutions like the metaverse and internet of things expand in the future.
Benefits
Upland gives players a little freedom to customize their gameplay in the decentralized platform. Among but a few of the benefits players enjoy are that they will have multiple earning opportunities, like Flipping properties and creating unique 3D structures and selling them. Players can also design and sell their avatars.
Players can collect properties and complete collections to enjoy passive money, plus they can take part in treasure hunts together with gaining from in-game tokens. Upland provides a Fair Start Act that grants new players access to more inexpensive gaming properties. Any property owned by a player will earn 14.7 percent each year. Players with numerous properties can combine them into a portfolio to receive greater yields and a one-time compensation.
Staking
Upland has two in-game currencies, Upland UPX (used to purchase properties) and Spark (used to improve buildings on properties). UPX and Spark are not actual cryptocurrencies. This means that they cannot be traded beyond the Upland gameplay, as third-party sites wouldn’t have any information about its tokenization. UPX is used to purchase in-game property while spark is staked for the time needed to finish manufacturing or construction. Construction will continue as long as the Spark is used for staking, and once completed, players will receive their Spark restored, prepared to be staked towards a new project!
Security
All players who want to transmit or obtain UPX must authenticate their identification with Upland’s Tilia partners. Any attempt to utilize the UPX transfer capability without first completing authentication will alert the player to do so.
All UPX earned (through the marketplace, shop purchase, or earnings) is liable to a 60-day cooling-off before it may be transferred.
To maintain the most significant user security, all UPX transfer transactions are subjected to 2-Factor Authentication and Captcha. If players want to use the UPX transfer technique, Upland strongly advises enabling 2FA.
